Parkdale Community Health Centre

Parkdale Community Health Centre's Harm Reduction Program, one of the first of its kind in Toronto, has been serving our community for over 25 years. The program includes a drop-in needle exchange staffed by harm reduction peer workers, community and street outreach, harm reduction education, secondary supply distribution to neighbourhood agencies, and workshops for community members, agencies, and organizations. Through our program, we distribute safer injection and smoking supplies, safer sex supplies, education and resources, HIV/AIDS and HCV prevention and treatment information, nutritious food, water, winter supplies, and hygeine. Our program's peer workers have lived experience and expertise with substance use, sex work, street involvement, and homelessness, and understand the Parkdale community and the people who access our services. Peer workers and other harm reduction staff provide safer use training, support, and referrals to primary care, counselling, housing, and more, both internal and external.
